Crystal of the week: Peacock Ore

This week’s crystal is a bright one: Peacock Ore

Peacock Ore, original name Chalcopyrite, is one of the most beautiful stones I’ve come across to date. Chalcopyrite is a brass-yellow mineral with a chemical composition of CuFeS2. These give it a similar appearance to Pyrite and gold.

It has been the most important ore of copper for thousands of years. Most Peacock Ore specimens are treated with acid to give them a blue and purple iridescence, which enhances their visual appearance.

The term “fool’s gold” is often used when describing Chalcopyrite because it is most often associated with Pyrite because it is more common and more often confused with gold. Distinguishing these minerals is easy. Gold is soft and has a yellow streak through it and has a much higher specific gravity. Chalcopyrite is brittle and has a greenish/gray streak through it. Pyrite is hard enough that it cannot be scratched with a nail, but Chalcopyrite can be easily scratched with a nail.

Peacock Ore is best used when fighting any negative energy. It’s beautiful rainbow colouring blocks any negative energy from entering your field when carrying or wearing it. It is also beneficial when having a piece next to you in any room as it stops the bad energy from entering the room. It is very important that when you are working with Peacock Ore that you set your intentions with it prior to use. A great intention you could say is “Peacock Ore, please protection me from any negative energy entering my space. I am surrounded by light and peace”. This will amplify the crystals properties for protection.

Peacock Ore is the crystal for those who need a little reminding that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Just a small loo at Peacock Ore will give you a gentle reminded of all the things in life that bring your joy, removing any negative emotions you may be feeling. 

Peacock Ore also has a special connection with the universe, helping us to remember that we are not alone and the universe has our back. Working with this beautiful rainbow crystal  on a regular basis, we are constantly reminded of the happiness and joy that is within all of us. This encourages us to approach ourselves in a positive way. So, if you’re attracted to this stone, it’s likely that you want to find an inner state of peace

 

Peacock Ore is an amazing crystal for those who need assistance in achieving and maintaining a deep meditation and increases your intuition. It helps to stimulate your inner spirit, this allows you to find contentment in the moment. During meditation it breaks up energy blockages to open your crown chakra. It is also said that Peacock Ore is one of the strongest healing stones in the mineral kingdom. This means that it has the ability to align each chakra.
