Blog Crystal of the week Crystals Labradorite Moonlight Crystals

Hello my beautiful gems and welcome back to yet another week of crystal of the week!
Let’s kick start this awesome week with: Labradorite

It is said that this extraordinary stone fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis by the people of Lore of the Inuits. Labradorite was first discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770 who named it for the area. However, referenced in legends by older Inuit tribes, and was known to be in use by the Boethuk peoples of Newfoundland and Labrador. It soon became a popular gem in Europe in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is known for its flashing colours, known as labradorescence. This stone is usually a gray-green, dark gray, black or grayish-white. But when moving around a Labradorite crystal you get to see it’s composed in aggregate layers that refract light as iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, or coppery red.
The main blue flashes within the light, displaying hues from the deepest blue to various shades of pale, almost blue-green.

They say this stone transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms. Labradorite, also known as the “Stone of Magic”, is a crystal of shamans, diviners, healers, and all those who travel and embrace the universe seeking/searching knowledge and guidance. This crystal is also known to be best for self-discovery, as it awakens one's own awareness of inner spirit, intuition and psychic abilities.

Labradorite is one of the best crystals to have when you are seeking/discovering magic on your spiritual journey as this crystals connections with the universe. Most crystals encourage us to stay grounded where as Labradorite encourages us to keep our head in the clouds. Labradorite is also the most powerful protector of the mineral kingdom, it creates a shielding force throughout the aura and strengths our natural energies from within.

Labradorite brings out the best in people within the work place. It encourages courtesy and full attention to the customer and assists part-time and temporary staff in becoming fully dedicated in a company.

Labradorite helps us to control the negative side of our personality, the traits and actions that destroy our energy and may cause depression or shame. This crystal helps to reduce anti-social, reckless or impulsive behaviour in children, teenagers and adults who are easily led into trouble by others. It will also aid in detoxifying the effects of tobacco, alcohol, and to a lesser degree, hard drugs.
